Dr Gavin Dunbar is a Senior Lecturer who specialises in sedimentology. He uses geochemical characterisation and the physical properties of sediments to reconstruct climate history from the Antarctic to the tropics.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Gavin will help lead the SWAIS2 Project, which aims to recover sediment cores from the ice shelf along the Siple Coast to reconstruct West Antarctic Ice Sheet dynamics.
