Naomi is an environmental planner and co-director for Tuanuku Consultancy. She is also a senior lecturer and researcher at the School of Graduate Studies, Te Awanuiārangi, Whakatane, and at the Te Kotahi Research Institute at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato (the University of Waikato). Naomi’s research interests include Māori and Indigenous geographies, Māori resource management, hapu and iwi sustainability initiatives, Kaupapa Māori theory and methodologies, and traditional histories for whānau well-being. Naomi is also a member of the Kāhui Māori of the Deep South National Science Challenge.
