PhD Scholarship: Distribution modelling of Antarctic species

Another PhD opportunity is available with Project Three, this time based at the University of Canterbury. The Tonkin Lab is looking for a student to develop and apply process-explicit species distribution models and various other hybrid biogeographical models. The models will be developed for a wide range of species to project the response of Ross Sea Region ecosystems to climate change.

The team is looking for someone with an Honours or Master’s qualification in ecology or a related field, ideally with analytical/ modelling programming skills and a background in ecological theory.

The scholarship is based in Christchurch at the University of Canterbury and covers three years tuition fees as well as an annual allowance of $27,500.
