Jenny Webster-Brown

Steering Group chair 2025–2032

Jenny joined the Antarctic Science Platform after serving as Director of the Our Land and Water National Science Challenge.

Her career as a water quality scientist has spanned nearly 40 years and encompasses research, teaching and consultancy specialising on the impacts of contaminants in freshwater systems in Aotearoa and in Antarctica. She has worked with DSIR Chemistry Division, ESR and the University of Auckland, and is an Adjunct Professor at Canterbury and Lincoln Universities, where she was in 2010 appointed as the inaugural director of the Waterways Centre for Freshwater Management. She is the Immediate Past President of the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society / Ngā Kohinga Wai o Aotearoa.

She became the Steering Group's Deputy Chair in 2024.
