Professor Cliff Law’s research interest is in marine biogeochemistry and ocean-atmosphere interaction, particularly trace gas cycling and sources, nutrient limitation of phytoplankton, and impacts of ocean acidification and warming in sub-Antarctic and Polar waters.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Cliff will examine the sources and distribution of dissolved iron, and its influence on phytoplankton biomass, composition and production in coastal and open ocean regions. His research also examines the influence of subglacial water release from seeps in coastal regions of the Ross Sea.
