Dr Katie Maier uses geologic, geophysical, and oceanographic data to study transport of sediments, link tectonic and sedimentary processes, decipher records in marine stratigraphy, and evaluate long-standing assumptions in the deep-marine realm.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Katie is collecting the first near-seafloor observational dataset along an Antarctic submarine canyon to decipher the role of high latitude canyons in global ocean circulation and ecosystem functioning.
