Michelle is a wildlife ecologist with a research background in spatial modeling, GIS and remote sensing in efforts to understand ecology of penguins and seals in the Southern Ocean. Michelle aims to use leading edge technology to study the ecology of these animals, and how their population changes can provide a glimpse into ecosystem function.

In the Antarctic Science Platform, Michelle is addressing change in the Ross Sea through population change of three species pertinent to the MPA (Adélie penguins, emperor penguins, and Weddell seals).
