Sandy is an interdisciplinary researcher bringing Mātauranga Māori into many spaces. Her current position as the Assistant Dean (Academic) for the University of Waikato’s Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies allows her to continue to challenge the thinkers of tomorrow and concentrate on her research interests around Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi, adult education and indigenous development. She also holds the role of president of the International Council of Adult Education, and leads the Kāhui Māori of the Deep South National Science Challenge. Sandy is now a member of the Steering Group and the Kāhui.
