Dr Amandine Sabadel is a biogeochemist and ecologist with a research background in isotopic and molecular approaches to trace energy and nutrient flows across marine and freshwater ecosystems. Her specialises in integrative biogeochemical tools to resolve trophic interactions and ecosystem functioning across environmental gradients.
In the Antarctic Science Platform, Amandine is investigating the transport of biogenic carbon through climate-regulating pathways, focusing on the Biological Carbon Pump (BCP). Using compound-specific stable isotope and eDNA methods, she aims to quantify the contribution of key autotrophic assemblages to seabed carbon sequestration, improving our understanding of carbon cycling and climate regulation in polar systems.
