Dr Felix Zareie-Vaux is a biologist specialising in evolutionary ecology, genomics and bioinformatics. He has led population genomic and molecular surveillance research on a wide diversity of marine and terrestrial organisms. Dr Zareie-Vaux enjoys using genomic methods to improve the interpretation, management and conservation of populations, species, and environments. With collaborators, he is also interested in the improvement of laboratory methods, analyses and data management to improve the long-term benefits of scientific research.
Dr Zareie-Vaux will be using genomics and eDNA methods to investigate ecosystem interactions and marine diversity in Antarctica, under the Ecosystem objective of Tiaki Moana. This research will help to quantify and model the impacts of climate change in Antarctica.
