Ian is a Principal Science Advisor for Fisheries New Zealand. He has a background in fish stock assessment and the effects of fishing on the seabed, and worked in Scotland (Marine Laboratory, Aberdeen) and New Zealand (NIWA) before joining Fisheries New Zealand in 2021. He chairs the Fisheries New Zealand Antarctic Working Group, and is New Zealand’s Scientific Committee representative to CCAMLR.
