Jacqui Stuart

PhD

Marine Biodiversity and Ecology

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington

Jacqui is a marine biologist and ecologist with a research background in sea‑ice algae and polar marine ecosystems. She studies how microscopic algae living in and under sea ice grow, survive, and contribute to Antarctic food webs.

In the Antarctic Science Platform, Jacqui is investigating sea‑ice algal productivity across different ice habitats and contributing to year‑round and long‑term sea‑ice observations. This work helps us understand how changing sea‑ice conditions will impact Antarctic ecosystems.
