Martin is a Paleontology Data Scientist at Earth Sciences New Zealand. He has a background in Geology, Paleobiology, and Geosciences. He now specialises in automated microscopy, applied to various microfossil groups such as radiolaria, diatoms and foraminifera. His current research interests include Cenozoic silicification of plankton, and automated recognition of microfossils. In the Antarctic Science Platform, Martin is focusing on Automated recognition of marine diatoms for biostratigraphy and paleoenvironmental reconstructions purposes.
