Sarah Flanagan

PhD

Evolutionary Biologist

University of Canterbury

Sarah is an evolutionary biologist with a research background in population genomics, behavioural ecology, and evolution of marine animals. Her research aims to understand how and why variation is maintained within populations, with a focus on differences between the sexes. Understanding these processes enables for better informed conservation recommendations. In the Antarctic Science Platform, Sarah is leading a population genomics investigation into emperor penguins with an aim to integrate that information into the assessment of the MPA.
