Sarah supports ethical research relationships with Māori and practical application of Vision Mātauranga. She brings 24 years’ experience in education, leadership, and governance, including work with iwi leadership and Papatipu Rūnanga across the motu. Sarah is skilled at building trusted, reciprocal research partnerships.

In the Antarctic Science Platform, Sarah is a Co-PI and supporting Māori and Indigenous perspectives across the project’s framing, engagement, and impact pathways. Her contribution connects knowledge, relationships, stewardship, and decision-making to support research that is scientifically robust, culturally grounded, and useful for long-term Ross Sea MPA monitoring and policy.
